Aga Khan Transfers Horses from Jean-Claude Rouget to Graffar

Vadeni was one of the stars of the Aga’s partnership.

The Aga Khan Studs will be transferring all horses currently under the care of Jean-Claude Rouget to the stable of Francis-Henri Graffard.

The Aga Khan's distinctive green silks adorned with red epaulettes are frequently seen on European racecourses, and the owner maintains a significant presence in France, where he has horses trained by Mikel Delzangles, Graffard, and Rouget.

Recently, Rouget has stepped back from managing his stables due to health issues and announced a merger with fellow French trainer Jerome Reynier, effective January 2025.

However, the horses previously trained by Rouget for the Aga Khan will not be part of their combined operation, as the reorganization of the stud will result in their transfer to Graffard.

A statement on the organization's website indicated: "The Aga Khan Studs have confirmed that their horses currently trained by Jean-Claude Rouget will be moved to the Aiglemont training center in Gouvieux under the guidance of Francis-Henri Graffard, with the objective of optimizing their operations.

"The Aga Khan Studs team expresses their sincere gratitude to Jean-Claude Rouget for his commitment over the past 19 years, during which he secured seven Group One victories for H.H. the Aga Khan, including Valyra (Prix de Diane), Ervedya (Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, Coronation Stakes, and Prix du Moulin de Longchamp), and more recently, Vadeni (Prix du Jockey Club and Eclipse Stakes)."
