Appleby Confident in Big Evs' Breeders' Cup Chances

With Big Evs and Big Mojo set for action at the Breeders' Cup, trainer Mick Appleby remains hopeful. Despite challenging stall positions, both horses aim for victory under the guidance of jockey Tom Marquand.

Appleby noted that Big Evs' exceptional speed out of the gate could help counter his wide draw, stating, 'We would have liked stall four or five, but he's extremely fast out of the gate, and with a strong start, he can move forward.'

Appleby is also entering Big Mojo in the Juvenile Turf Sprint, with Tom Marquand riding both horses. Big Mojo, who starts from stall three, has demonstrated significant promise, akin to Big Evs. Appleby remarked, 'He's a completely different runner compared to Big Evs. He doesn't need to be in front and can comfortably position himself just behind the leaders.'

With strong form, experience on the U.S. tracks, and a bit of luck, Appleby is hopeful that both horses will compete for top honours. 'They are fit and in good shape, with real chances. It would be amazing if they both secured the win.'
