Bradsell Triumphs in Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes
"Bradsell Triumphs at York: Watson’s Colt Wins Nunthorpe Stakes in Impressive Style Under Hollie Doyle, Leaving Rivals Trail Behind"
Bradsell emerged as the standout winner of the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
Following a third-place finish 12 months ago after his victory in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot, Archie Watson's colt faced a disrupted season this year, making his reappearance only earlier this month.
Yet, after demonstrating that his exceptional sprinting ability is still very much intact with an impressive comeback win in a Listed event at Deauville, the son of Tasleet was well-favored at 3-1 for his return to Group One level and proved his mettle under the guidance of Hollie Doyle.
Receiving a flawless lead into the race on the far side of the track from the swift Czech raider Ponntos, Bradsell surged ahead, traveling strongly within two furlongs with Doyle glancing across to assess her competition.
She must have liked what she saw, as it was quickly evident that Bradsell was in complete control, justifying the winning margin of three-quarters of a length.
The reliable Believing powered forward near the stands rail to take the runner-up position, with Starlust and the Australian 6-4 favorite Asfoora finishing close in third and fourth, respectively.
