"Breakthrough Debut for Righthere Rightnow: Spencer Eyes Champagne Stakes After Impressive Win"

Trainer already plotting path towards next year’s 2000 Guineas with promising juvenile.

Richard Spencer is already envisioning Classic glory in 2025, as he announced that his promising Listed winner Yah Mo Be There will not race again until next season.

Owned by Phil Cunningham, the Mohaather colt showed early promise with a narrow defeat on his debut at York. Despite a disappointing run in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, he bounced back impressively by winning the Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury with ease.

While there were initial plans to enter him in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, potentially stepping up to seven furlongs and Group company, Spencer has now decided to shelve those plans. Instead, Yah Mo Be There will be rested for the remainder of this season and will return for an early-season Classic trial next year.

spencer stated, "He won't race again this year; we'll be putting him away and aiming for next season. He will be prepared for a Guineas trial in the spring."

To cover for Yah Mo Be There in the Champagne Stakes, Spencer is turning to Righthere Rightnow, an impressive debut winner. The Kodiac colt, also owned by Spencer’s long-time supporter Cunningham, cruised to a five-length victory on his debut at Newmarket, prompting connections to set their sights on more ambitious goals.

Spencer remarked, "He performed well, and the result was satisfying. He's been impressing us at home, and although I didn't expect him to win by such a margin, I anticipated a strong performance."

"He’s a great horse with a sound temperament, and he's very promising for Phil and the team."

"While it's still early days, we're likely to target the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster. We’re not planning to enter him in the sales races, as we have other candidates for those. We want to treat him as the talented horse we believe he is."

"He will likely have an entry for the Dewhurst as well."
