"Exciting Chase Debut for You Wear It Well at Bangor"

Join Sky Sports Racing this Wednesday for an exhilarating afternoon featuring standout events at Bangor-on-Dee and Lingfield, highlighted by former Cheltenham Festival champion You Wear It Well making her highly anticipated chase debut.

This Wednesday, Sky Sports Racing presents a thrilling afternoon filled with action, featuring exciting races from Bangor-on-Dee and Lingfield, along with an evening event at Southwell. The highlight of the day is the chase debut of You Wear It Well, the winner of the Cheltenham Festival, as she takes her first steps over fences in the Listed Yorton Mares' Novices' Chase at Bangor.

At seven years old, You Wear It Well has established herself as a powerful hurdler, boasting five wins to date, including the esteemed Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in 2023. Now, with the support of trainer Jamie Snowden and jockey Gavin Sheehan, she begins an exciting campaign in novice chases. Considering her impressive track record over hurdles, it’s no wonder she is regarded as a top contender for this race.

Nevertheless, the competition is not easy. West Balboa, trained by Dan Skelton, poses a significant threat, having demonstrated potential over hurdles, including an impressive performance in last year's Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot. Following a lackluster debut in chasing at Worcester, West Balboa must elevate her performance promptly to be competitive in this race.

The Irish contender Shecouldbeanything, trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Sean Bowen, arrives with impressive form. With three victories in her four chase outings, she will pose a significant challenge for You Wear It Well. Additionally, Space Tourist (trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Brian Hughes) and Casa No Mento (trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies) add to the competitive landscape, completing a strong field for this Listed race.

At Lingfield, another strong lineup is anticipated for the Listed BetMGM Fleur De Lys EBF Fillies' Stakes (2.40). Sacred Angel, who is trained by Charlie Johnston, makes her return to the racetrack for the first time since a lackluster performance in the 1000 Guineas back in May. This Group Three victor will be making her all-weather debut with new jockey Billy Loughnane aboard, aiming to reclaim her peak form.

On the other hand, Doom, trained by William Haggas, began the season with impressive showings in elite competitions but is now aiming to recover after a series of underwhelming performances. Having taken a brief pause to regain her energy, she remains a contender to consider, especially for a trainer who has achieved notable success in this race recently.

Another horse to keep an eye on is Iken, who secured a third-place finish behind Sparks Fly at Saint-Cloud before achieving victory at the same location last weekend. Additionally, Ornellaia, who placed third in the Irish 1000 Guineas, is expected to vie for a top position as well.

Given the impressive array of competitors on both cards, the afternoon promises to deliver exhilarating racing. You Wear It Well is expected to be the main focus as she faces her first challenge over fences.
