Star Jockey Closing in on 1,000 Career Wins as She Sets Her Sights on Irish Sprint Success

Hollie Doyle is on the brink of a remarkable career achievement as she edges closer to her 1,000th career victory. Fresh off the back of her 100th win of the year at Ripon, Doyle is just three wins away from reaching the 1,000-win milestone, a feat she has been steadily working toward since her first victory back in 2013.

With almost 700 of her wins coming in the last five years alone, the 27-year-old jockey has become a dominant force in the world of flat racing. Now, as she looks to follow up her spectacular success aboard Bradsell in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York, Doyle has her sights set on the Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on September 15.

Doyle’s Relentless Drive to 1,000 Wins

Doyle’s latest victory came aboard Archie Watson’s Zayer in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, where she not only secured the win but also set a new track record. The success was another testament to her relentless pursuit of greatness. Speaking after the race, she reflected on the journey that has brought her to this point.

“That was my target at the start of the year, to try to get to 1,000 international career winners,” Doyle shared with Sky Sports Racing. “I’m not too far away, so it will be good to get that done.”

Doyle’s remarkable rise in the sport has been marked by her consistent success and the sheer number of wins she has accumulated in such a short space of time. Her achievement of nearly 700 victories in the past five years is a testament to her tenacity, skill, and the strength of her partnerships with top trainers and horses.

Bradsell’s Nunthorpe Triumph: A Glimpse of What’s to Come?

Doyle’s triumph aboard Bradsell in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York was nothing short of sensational. The young sprinter left his rivals trailing as he scorched his way to victory, lighting up the racecourse and further cementing Doyle’s status as one of the most exciting jockeys in the sport.

Her smile after the race said it all, and Doyle is now hopeful that Bradsell can replicate that stunning form in the upcoming Flying Five at the Curragh. The stakes are high, but with a horse like Bradsell in her corner, Doyle has every reason to be optimistic.

“He seems absolutely fine since his run,” Doyle said of Bradsell’s condition following the Nunthorpe win. “You have to take every day as it comes with him, but he seems fine since York. All systems go for the Flying Five, hopefully.”

Doyle is confident that Bradsell’s natural speed and continued development will serve him well in Ireland. “He showed so much natural speed, and I think he’s getting better with age, which can be the case with sprinters,” she added. “All being well, it will be Ireland next, that’s what Archie mentioned.”

A Star on the Rise: The Doyle-Watson Partnership

The Doyle-Watson partnership has been a particularly fruitful one in recent years, with Doyle often finding herself aboard Watson’s most promising runners. Zayer, her mount in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes, is another horse that both jockey and trainer hold in high regard.

“It’s good to get that done, especially for the team at Archie’s,” Doyle said after her latest victory. “He’s a really nice horse and we’ve always thought highly of him.”

This win was yet another example of Doyle’s ability to deliver when it matters most, and with Zayer setting a new track record in the process, it’s clear that Doyle’s career is continuing to rise to new heights.

A Milestone in Sight, and Much More to Come

There’s something special about Hollie Doyle’s journey to 1,000 wins. It’s not just the numbers that make her story so compelling—it’s the relentless drive, the undeniable talent, and the quiet determination to break barriers and redefine what’s possible in the sport of horse racing.

With every win, Doyle not only moves closer to her goal but also proves that she is more than capable of competing at the highest level. Her performance aboard Bradsell in the Nunthorpe Stakes was the perfect example of her ability to seize the moment and deliver under pressure.

As she prepares for the Flying Five at the Curragh, all eyes will be on Doyle and Bradsell. Can they repeat the magic of York and claim another major sprint victory? Whatever the outcome, one thing is certain: Doyle is a force to be reckoned with, and the next chapter of her career promises to be just as thrilling as the last.
