Hollie Doyle Eyes Flying Five Glory with Bradsell as She Nears 1,000 Career Wins

Bradsell colours successful at Ripon for 100th this year.

Hollie Doyle is on the brink of a major milestone in her career as she looks to build on the recent success of Bradsell in the Nunthorpe Stakes by targeting the Flying Five at the Curragh. Doyle, who recently notched her 100th win of the year at Ripon, is now just three victories away from achieving 1,000 career wins, a remarkable feat just 11 years after her first victory in 2013.

Doyle's latest triumph came aboard Archie Watson's promising colt, Zayer, in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes at Ripon. The 4-5 favourite didn't just win—he set a new track record in the process. "It's good to get that done, especially for the team at Archie's. He's a nice horse, and we've always thought highly of him," Doyle shared with Sky Sports Racing. She also noted that Zayer, still developing, found the track challenging but has the potential to be a strong contender next year.

As Doyle edges closer to the 1,000-win milestone, she reflected on her journey, with nearly 700 of those wins coming in the last five years alone. "That was my target at the start of the year, to try to get to 1,000 international career winners. I'm not too far away, so that will be good to get that done," she said.

Doyle's standout moment at York last week was riding Bradsell to a sensational victory in the Nunthorpe Stakes, and she hopes to replicate that success in the upcoming Flying Five at the Curragh on September 15. "He seems fine since his run; you have to take every day as it comes with him, but he seems fine since York," Doyle reported. "All systems go for the Flying Five, hopefully. He showed so much natural speed, and I think he's getting better with age, which can be the case with sprinters."

With Bradsell in top form and Doyle's confidence high, all eyes will be on the Curragh as she aims to add another major victory to her impressive resume and reach the significant milestone of 1,000 career wins.
