Rebel Diamond Shines Bright with Hat-Trick Victory in Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes

Amy Murphy and Archie Watson runners finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Rebel Diamond achieved a remarkable hat-trick of wins with a stylish performance in the Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse, where the two British contenders finished just outside the placings. The chestnut colt, trained by Natalia Lupini, shed his maiden status at the fifth attempt in August with a victory in a six-furlong race at Naas, followed by another triumph at Cork.
Stepping up to Listed level for the first time at Naas, Rebel Diamond was under pressure to elevate his performance. Partnered with jockey Billy Lee, he entered the race as a 4-1 chance in a competitive field of seven. Lee took a patient approach, settling the colt on the outside before gearing up for a challenge as they rounded the bend.
Several competitors, including Hollie Doyle aboard Archie Watson’s Vingegaard and Amy Murphy’s Itsatenfromlen, battled for the lead. However, it was Rebel Diamond who showcased his stamina and determination, pulling away to secure victory by three-quarters of a length over One Smack Mac.

Craig Bryson, the trainer’s partner, expressed his delight, stating, "He’s progressing well; he won very easily in Cork, and quick ground is key for him. Today’s race was nice, and it seemed he won with plenty in hand. We're very happy with him."
Highlighting the colt’s qualities, Bryson added, "He has a good attitude, travels well, and quickens effectively. Billy mentioned he won as he liked today, which makes us optimistic about what lies ahead."
Looking to the future, Bryson noted, "We’ll assess what’s next for him. He’s probably had enough racing this year, so we’ll see how he comes out of this race. He’s also likely for sale, which makes this victory even more significant."
