Treasure Time’s Owners Gearing Up for Another Big Day at St Leger Festival

Scenes of celebration at York on Friday were a joy to behold.

Treasure Time’s devoted group of owners are eagerly anticipating another thrilling day at the Betfred St Leger Festival next month, following their recent takeover of York’s winner's enclosure.

The three-year-old colt, part of the RaceShare syndicate, delivered an exhilarating finish to claim victory in a valuable handicap at the Ebor Festival, creating unforgettable scenes as his enthusiastic owners celebrated wildly at the Knavesmire. Around 125 owners were present to witness the triumph, with many flocking to join in the trophy presentation afterward.

RaceShare is designed to offer the excitement and joy of racehorse ownership at a fraction of the traditional cost. The group’s success with Treasure Time, trained by the esteemed William Haggas, has been a testament to this model. His next likely target is a one-mile handicap on St Leger day at Doncaster, where he will face older horses for the first time, but confidence in his ability remains high.

RaceShare's Ash White shared the excitement of the group, saying, "We’ll liaise with William Haggas, but his next target is likely to be a one-mile handicap on St Leger day at Doncaster. He’ll be taking on older horses for the first time, but he quickened nicely at York, and his family is really progressive."

The syndicate prides itself on ensuring that all owners, regardless of their financial commitment, feel intimately involved in the journey. "We try to ensure all our owners feel closely involved, whether they can join us at the racecourse or not. We had 125 jubilant owners there on Friday, all taken for champagne afterwards by York Racecourse," White added.

Looking ahead, Treasure Time is being aimed at prestigious future targets, including the Balmoral Handicap on British Champions Day and Royal Ascot next year. With his pedigree and recent performances, hopes are high that he can continue to climb the ranks.

Adding to the excitement, RaceShare has extended its partnership with renowned punter and bloodstock investor Patrick Veitch, who will lead their buying team until at least 2030. This collaboration has already borne fruit, with Veitch sourcing several successful horses for the syndicate.

"We initially asked Patrick for four horses from the October sales. He sourced Scampi, who won at York's Dante meeting last year and the Shergar Cup, Treasure Time, who looks to be going places, along with La Pulga and Red Mirage, who've won three times between them to date," said White. "We’ve been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from owners since our launch, and success on the racecourse is obviously a key driver of that."

Veitch, who has a track record of success in the bloodstock industry, noted the synergy between his own operations and RaceShare. "As well as my own breeding operation, I have a tie-up with Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, and buy for RaceShare. Tony and Ian are buying at the upper end of the yearling market, while RaceShare is focusing more on the middle market and horses-in-training, so it fits well."

As Treasure Time and his loyal owners prepare for their next big day, the excitement within the RaceShare community continues to build, driven by the promise of more thrilling victories to come.
