Tutty's Blue Storm Targets Beverley Bullet Success Despite Preparations Setback
Three-year-old tackles Listed company at Beverley.
Trainer Gemma Tutty is optimistic that her sprinter Blue Storm can make an impact in the William Hill Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes this Saturday, despite being "a gallop short" in his preparation. The three-year-old colt, who has been steadily improving throughout the year, is expected to deliver another strong performance.
After a seasonal debut at Chester and a notable victory in the 3YO Dash Handicap at Epsom, Blue Storm put in a career-best effort at Royal Ascot, finishing a close second in the Palace of Holyrood House Stakes. Although the colt has not raced since his Ascot run, Tutty believes he has maintained his base fitness and is ready for the challenge at Beverley.
"He’s a seriously fast horse," said Tutty, acknowledging that the stiff track is an unknown factor but remains hopeful based on his Ascot performance.
Among the competition, Clarendon House, trained by Robert Cowell, brings experience on the Beverley track. After a Listed win in Cork, his recent form has prompted a tactical shift, with the horse returning to basics, stripping back headgear and adopting a simpler approach in the hope of rekindling his earlier success.
Cowell’s Democracy Dilemma and Michael Dods’ Commanche Falls are other notable contenders, with the latter dropping back in distance in a bid to return to winning ways. Also in the mix are Emaraaty Ana, Albasheer, and Staincliff, the latter stepping up to Listed level in search of a hat-trick for Jack Channon.
With an intriguing mix of form and strategy, the Beverley Bullet promises to be a fiercely competitive contest.
