Unbeaten Lazzat to Skip Prix de la Foret for Golden Eagle Challenge in Australia
Unbeaten sprinter will bypass ParisLongchamp, with Rosehill prize in his sights.
Star sprinter Lazzat is set to bypass the Prix de la Foret at ParisLongchamp in favour of an exciting international venture, with a trip to Australia on the horizon. Trainer Jerome Reynier confirmed that his undefeated three-year-old will be targeting the Golden Eagle at Rosehill on November 2, with a whopping prize of 10 million Australian dollars up for grabs.
Six Wins and Counting Lazzat, who went unraced as a juvenile, has enjoyed a stellar season, winning all six of his races, including a stunning Group One triumph in the Prix Maurice de Gheest. Despite having the option to compete on home soil during the prestigious Arc weekend, Reynier has chosen to send the Territories gelding down under to take on Australia’s best.
"We're excited about this challenge," Reynier said. "He’ll start quarantine at Newmarket before flying to Sydney in mid-October. If he arrives safe and happy, we believe he has a strong chance."
Eyes on Global Glory Though adapting to new conditions in Australia presents its challenges, Reynier is confident in Lazzat’s ability to maintain his unbeaten record. As one of Europe's top sprinters, the Golden Eagle offers an exciting opportunity for the talented gelding to showcase his brilliance on the global stage.
