Cheveley Park Team Eager About Stoute’s Promising Pair

Homebred duo Anna Swan and Formal both made impressive winning debuts.

Cheveley Park Stud seems to possess two promising juvenile fillies in the form of Anna Swan and Formal, both trained by Sir Michael Stoute. Formal, a progeny of Dubawi and a descendant of the Group One-winning Cheveley Park homebred Veracious, commenced her career impressively at Newbury last month, where she comfortably defeated the strong favorite Glistening.

Her stablemate, Anna Swan, sired by Almanzor and out of the black-type performer Vivionn, arguably made an even more significant impact during her debut at Yarmouth last week. Although the connections have yet to establish definitive plans for either filly, they are optimistic about their potential.

"I cannot ascertain the quality of Anna Swan's competition, but her victory was achieved with remarkable ease," stated Chris Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park.

They seem to have a favorable opinion of her, and Formal also delivered a commendable performance for us under Sir Michael's training. We are hopeful to have two exceptional fillies and will determine our next steps accordingly.

"We will review the entries, and I am confident that he (Stoute) will exercise patience and develop them gradually. Their performances were certainly eye-catching, and we are thrilled to have both of them."
